Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. At college, she was studying writing and women's studies. She even spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until she finished her studies. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. She decided to pursue acting as a profession following the completion of her previous two projects, as an author and musician. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she got several notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
